Does “Joy:fully Lutheran” mean I have to smile all the time?

Many people shy away from the Church because they perceive Christians as fake and hypocritical. Being joyful does not mean being happy all the time. Nor does it mean pretending you are always okay. Joy can exist amid sorrow and struggle. Honesty about our struggle with sin and its effects in our lives drives us to the One who can and will aid in every trial and temptation, our Lord Jesus Christ.
