Christ Lutheran Church Earns Second Place in Mustang Western Days Parade

Mustang, OK – Christ Lutheran Church of Mustang proudly took home second place in the Non-Profit category at this year’s Mustang Western Days Parade. With an estimated 30,000 people attending the festivities over the weekend, the event brought the community together under the theme “Hold Your Horses.”

Christ Lutheran’s float creatively reflected this theme with “Hold Your Horses… and Wait for the Lord,” inspired by Psalm 27:14: “Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!” The float encouraged onlookers to find strength, courage, and patience in God’s promises, even in the midst of life’s fast pace.

“We were honored to be part of such a vibrant community tradition,” said Pastor Daniel Ross. “Western Days gives us a chance to celebrate Mustang’s heritage while also sharing the hope we have in Christ.”

The parade entry featured members of the Christ Lutheran community and highlighted the congregation’s ongoing commitment to serving Mustang and surrounding areas. Volunteers handed out candy and stickers to children while others sang Christian songs as the float went through the parade route. Over 40 members helped in some way, of which the church is grateful for their time and talents.

Christ Lutheran Church holds worship services each Sunday at 8:00 and 10:30 a.m. and offers Bible studies, youth programs, and community outreach throughout the week. All are welcome to join.
