What to You and Your Children Can Expect
Children will join a week‑long adventure discovering how Jesus seeks them, saves them, and walks with them every day.
Tropical Trek VBS (CPH) is a free, Christ‑centered, island‑adventure program built around Luke 19:10—“For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.” It teaches children that Jesus finds, rescues, and loves them in every circumstance. Christ Lutheran Church in Mustang, Oklahoma will host this VBS June 22–26, 2026, from 6:00–8:30 PM.
Across five days, children explore major stories showing God’s rescue plan in action:
God Saves Baby Moses (Exodus 1–2)
Ruth & Naomi (Book of Ruth)
Jesus and Zacchaeus (Luke 19:1–10)
Jesus Rises from the Dead (Luke 24:1–12)
Jesus Appears to Paul (Acts 9:1–9)
Each lesson highlights how God meets His people in fear, loss, sin, and uncertainty—and brings hope, strength, and new life.
There is also a Bible study for adults during this time as well.

I want to personally invite your family to join us for Tropical Trek Vacation Bible School at Christ Lutheran Church in Mustang, Oklahoma. This year’s VBS theme from Concordia Publishing House takes children on a vibrant island adventure where they discover the unchanging truth of God’s Word and the steady love of Jesus. It’s a week filled with hands‑on learning, memorable Bible stories, and the assurance that God guides us through every step of life’s journey.
What Is Vacation Bible School (VBS)?
Vacation Bible School, or VBS, is a Christ‑centered summer program designed to help children learn the Bible in a fun, engaging, and age‑appropriate way. Through music, crafts, games, storytelling, and interactive activities, kids experience the love of Jesus in a safe and joyful environment. VBS has been a trusted ministry for generations because it combines biblical teaching with meaningful relationships and a welcoming atmosphere for families.
At Christ Lutheran Church (LCMS) in Mustang, VBS is more than a week of activities. It is an opportunity for children to hear the Gospel clearly, build friendships, and discover that God’s promises are for them—today and always.
Serving the Whole Family: Adult Bible Study Offered at the Same Time
We believe that ministry should serve every generation. That’s why, during the same hours as Tropical Trek VBS, we offer a Bible study for adults. While your children explore God’s promises through the Tropical Trek adventure, you can grow in your own faith, connect with other adults, and be refreshed by God’s Word. It is a true all‑ages ministry experience designed to strengthen families and build community.

Our Vacation Bible School runs from Monday, June 22nd through Friday, June 26th, 2026. Each daily session begins promptly at 6:30 PM and concludes at 8:30 PM.

VBS runs daily from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM. You may start dropping your child(ren) off at 5:45 PM every day and please be there by 8:30 PM for pick-up if you cannot stay.

Registration is available online through our church website. Walk‑ins are welcome, but early registration helps us prepare materials and ensure every child has a great experience. Register your child(ren) here.

Parking is available on the east and south sides of the building. There are dedicated accessible parking spots available in the east parking lot.

While we prefer you register yourself and/or your children, we often have people just show up as well. If you have not done so online you will be asked to fill out a registration form. This is for our record keeping and none of the information is shared. Please be sure to alert staff or volunteers to any food allergies.

For children, wear comfortable play clothes and closed-toe shoes! We will be doing fun tropical crafts and outdoor games right here on our Mustang campus. For adults, wear something comfortable but if you are coming straight from work that is fine as well and you will fit right in with many others doing the same. Volunteers and staff will be wearing clothes they can be active in.

No, plenty of parents do not attend. While we would love for whole families to be here, we also realize this is not always possible.

We recommend arriving 15 minutes early the first time. This allows time for check-in, to answer any questions, and/or register in person if needed.

Tropical Trek VBS is open to children from three years old (and potty trained) (preschool) through high school age. You will notice high schoolers serving as volunteers as well.

VBS at Christ Lutheran Church is completely free. We are grateful to offer this ministry as a gift to families in Mustang, Tuttle, Yukon, Southwest Oklahoma City, and the surrounding communities.

No. Vacation Bible School at Christ Lutheran Church is 100% free for all children in the Mustang, Yukon, Tuttle, and greater OKC communities. We provide all lesson materials, crafts, and daily snacks at no charge to your family.

Not at all. VBS is open to everyone in the Mustang, Yukon, Tuttle, and Southwest Oklahoma City communities and beyond. Many families who attend VBS do not have a church home, and we are honored to welcome them.

Children should wear comfortable play clothes and closed-toe shoes (like sneakers), as we will have active indoor and outdoor games. You do not need to send any food or supplies; we provide everything they will need for the day.

All volunteers have completed background checks. Our building is secure, and children remain with their group leaders throughout the time. Safety is a top priority at Christ Lutheran Church.

Absolutely. All of our VBS volunteers undergo thorough background checks. Please walk your child(ren) into the building and check-in at the check-in desk everyday so we can be sure your child is safely accounted for.
