This Lent: Reverse the Curse
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Christ Lutheran Church Invites Community to Lenten Midweek Series “Reverse the Curse”
Mustang, OK — During the season of Lent, Christ Lutheran Church invites the congregation and wider community to a midweek sermon series titled Reverse the Curse. This reflective series traces the great biblical curses introduced by humanity’s fall into sin and proclaims how God reverses them through the saving work of Jesus Christ.
At each of these four Wednesday evenings in Lent, worshipers will explore how Scripture moves from curse to promise, from exile to restoration, and from death to life. Beginning with humanity’s expulsion from Eden and concluding with Christ’s victory over death, the series highlights the sweeping narrative of redemption that stretches from Genesis to Revelation.
The series opens on February 25 with The Curse of Eden’s Expulsion, examining humanity’s banishment from the Garden of Eden and the promise of restored access to the Tree of Life in Christ. On March 4, The Curse of Babel’s Language Confusion considers humanity’s division and God’s answer in the unifying gift of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost. March 11 focuses on The Curse of the Law, proclaiming Christ crucified as the One who takes the curse upon Himself to redeem sinners. The series culminates with The Curse of Death, where Scripture’s final promise rings out: death is swallowed up in victory through the resurrection of Jesus.
Reverse the Curse invites hearers to see Lent not only as a season of repentance, but also as a season of hope—pointing forward to Easter and the full restoration God promises in Christ.
Midweek Lenten services are open to the public. All are welcome to attend and reflect on God’s enduring promise to make all things new.
Midweek services are at 7:00 PM.
